Before launching Timberyard, Suzie and Jason had already worked together for over a decade, solving complex digital challenges across various industries. This is the story of how they arrived here and how their shared experience has shaped the work we do today.
A professional partnership built on experience
Suzie and Jason first crossed paths in 2009 at Orange. At the time, Jason was leading online sales for Pay Monthly, and Suzie was heading up the digital platform transformation programme.
They quickly realised they had complementary skillsets, Jason’s commercial focus and digital execution paired with Suzie’s delivery mindset and experience-led thinking. From there, their paths kept crossing.
They collaborated across multiple sectors, including large-scale telecoms, media, retail, and travel. Projects included strategic consultancy, digital transformation initiatives, and ecommerce replatforming across brands such as Three, HMD Global (Nokia), Alamy, and others.
Each collaboration reinforced their shared values: prioritising users, solving problems efficiently, and delivering results with clarity and purpose.
Meet Suzie Leckie
Suzie’s (link to her LinkedIn page - https://www.linkedin.com/in/suzieleckie/) career began with a love of travel, shaped by her degree in Geography and a passion for exploring remote parts of the world. That passion led to roles at ebookers and Hilton Hotels, where she oversaw the replatforming of global websites and built a deep understanding of complex, multi-market digital ecosystems. From there, she moved into telecoms and technology, helping brands improve the entire customer lifecycle, from acquisition to loyalty and retention.
Suzie is a qualified Scaled Agile practitioner and trainer, an advocate for Women in Tech (link) and Women in MACH (link), and a mentor to others in the digital space. Her leadership is rooted in purpose, empathy, and a drive to make digital more human.
Meet Jason Coppin
Jason’s (link to https://www.linkedin.com/in/jasoncoppin/) journey began in 1999 in direct marketing, working on everything from print inserts to TV campaigns. That early exposure to the mechanics of sales and customer behaviour gave him a strong commercial foundation. As ecommerce emerged, Jason pivoted into digital.
While at Orange, he transitioned from marketing to the digital team, where he led Pay Monthly online sales, replatformed the site, and introduced new features such as Click & Collect and Live Chat, working closely with Suzie to bring these innovations to life. That period confirmed his passion for ecommerce, and in the years since, he has led digital strategy, replatforming, and e-commerce transformation projects across various sectors.
